A few weeks ago I sold my first round of junk on ebay. Posting things takes longer than I had expected, but overall it was fairly painless and worth the profit. So I gathered up some more junk around the house and spent the morning posting it for sale. I've already had three RUDE emails from disgruntled would-be buyers! I just guess the weight of the items and then buyers calculate their shipping based on their zip code. Apparently this formula meant one shopper would have to pay $26 to ship the boots I'm selling for $4. Instead of emailing me with "Are you sure the shipping amount is right? It seems high.", the person reported me to ebay for "fee circumvention". Whatever that is. Another person just wrote, "Your shipping is a rip off!!!"

So my question is, why do people automatically assume the worst of each other? Why do these people just assume that I'm a scam artist trying to stick it to 'em with my expensive shipping? What happened to giving people the benefit of the doubt, allowing people to explain themselves, innocent until proven guilty?!?!

I think I'd rather take my junk to DI than deal with hostile online cheap skates.

Is this why we have not been in communication? You are spending all of your time trying to figure out ebay?

Try selling stuff on craigslist first. It's free, and people just come to you to pick up. Craigslist is my only source of income at the moment.

ditto on the craigslist. I just bought a car seat and snugli and double stroller on craigs list and have met some very sweet moms in the process.

I'm the biggest craigslist fan of them all but I'll have to wait until I move back to "civilization". No one wants to drive to Queen Creek... not my friends, family, or people trying to get something from cheap!

I football coach once use to tell me "you can't bulls**t a bulls**ter." This meant that because he lied all the time he assumed that everyone did. People that accuse are often guilty of the same. Look at Al Gore!
