Life lessons

I learn so much at Mormon Mommy Aerobics. One of my favorite moms has a 2 year old, a 1 year old and recently found out she's pregnant. (As a side note, her kids are all born during the first week of June, in direct correlation to the vacation she and her husband take every September!) I initially thought, "You poor woman!" but every mom in the room agreed that it's better to have all your kids quick so that they are close in age. They say the first few years are hard but then you are done with the sleepless, newborn stage and you get to enjoy your kids. I can see the logic. It's got to be so hard to have older kids, who are busy with scouts and sports and school and friends, and to have to drag a newborn around to all of those activities. Anyway... it's got me thinking. I dont want to still be in the pregnant/ newborn stage when I'm 40. No thank you.

Oh, and the other thing I learned at aerobics is that in the meat department at Bashas', there are these pre-seasoned meats (wrapped in white paper and tied with a string) that are apparently phenomenal. They are around $3 per pound for chicken, or beef, or pork. All you have to do is take off the plastic and throw the thing in the oven for 3 hours and it's supposed to be this amazing meat that you can use for burritos, tacos, salads, etc. I bought the pork today. I'll let you know.

are you making some sort of anouncement?

I'm a believer. If I didn't get so sick with my pregnancies I'd probably be pregnant now. I want to have 4 all before I'm 35 and I'm no spring chicken. Good luck to us all.

No anouncement. Just thinking outloud. Brad and I made a time line that allows me to birth 5 babies by age 36... Check back with me in 7 years.

That's what I thought until I had my second. Having the girls only 2 years apart was so hard during the newborn stage. Never getting enough sleep, and never able to "catch up" because you have another child to chase around once the baby is sleeping. My next one is going to be 3 years from now. Hey, that's an improvement for me. If someone were to ask me 2 months ago, I would've said, NO MORE KIDS EVER! But now that the baby is sleeping through the night for the past 2 months, I like life again. Whew!

I also thought the same thing until I had two. I was going to spit them all out and be done. Now I don't care if they are all 3 or 4 years apart. Anything for sanity! The new born stage is very hard with a 2 year old. It feels like it will never end and I feel like I don't have enough time for both of them. But props to the mom who can do it!

Hi Jilly - Plan, plan, plan;
adjust, adjust, adjust.
I believe Heavenly Father has a huge sense of humor, arranging it so we spend the bulk of our prime either trying to, or not to, be pregnant. Any way it works out, you're sleepy. Sweet dreams! Aunt Nona
