He hears your prayers.

Of such is the kingdom,
The kingdom of heaven.
We sang this in Relief Society at church today to go with our lesson about strengthening families. I only sang the first two lines and then mostly listened. It was pretty emotional for me. For one thing, I suddenly remembered a time in my late teen years when I was feeling very alone and pretty lost. My prayer that night started with the words to this song: "Heavenly Father, are you really there?" At that moment of loneliness, the words I had learned as a little child came to my mind and helped me to talk to a Heavenly Father that I felt so distant from. And He was there. He heard my prayer, just like the song promised.
I continued to be emotional as I listened to the words of the song and realized that now I'm the parent who is responsible for making sure my child knows he has a Father in Heaven that loves him and will listen to his prayers. It's my job to foster that relationship between Cohen and the only person that can be with him and guide him through every situation in his life.
I'm grateful for prayer and eternally grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who hears and answers those prayers. We are His children! He wants desperately for us to succeed and be happy! Isn't it a beautiful thing?

this is one of my top 3 favorite songs. Liz and I sing it to Elijah on AZ road-trips when he needs a little sweet duet action. It's a definate tear-jerker.
I love the song to. When I was in primary the kids used to sing the first verse (which always gives me goosebumps) and the leaders sang the second verse. I love how songs can touch our hearts. It's amazing when you become a parent how you look at things differently. I too am thankful for prayer and the opportunity I have to talk with my Father in Heaven

Do you remember when we picked up the little family of hitchhikers on the way back to Safford from Willcox. I remember us singing that song to the little girl who rode in the front of the truck with us so she wouldn't be scared. It's amazing how the spirit can come so quickly through the sweet words and music.
You need to write a book. you always have such wonderful thoughts and you are in touch with the spirit right now becaue you are sharing in creating something wonderful. A child. That is where a woman shares with our father the creation of man. A woman creates the body of a person and our father breaths into it the sprit and together they have created life.
A woman is a co-creater with our father and that is why in this time that all you young mothers are so close to out father and are intuned with him so much.

...A very beautiful thing. When I was reading that I pictured you as a teenager and you were literally alone. And I have to say I admire you greatly for getting your self where you are today. And that is because you knew that you needed to and then went to the only true help. You are wonderful! I know Cohen will be taught those things by you!

I love that song, too! I'm in primary & every time they sing that, I get a little choked up & teary-eyed also. The spirit is always so strong when we sing that song.
