That's one happy Cougar fan!

It's been a long time since I've seen a smile (unaccompanied by tears) on my Grandpa's face. Grandpa had two requests of things he wanted to do after Grandma died. He wanted to build a zip line in the backyard for grandkids and great grandkids. It's under construction. He also requested a trip to BYU for a football game. He insisted on attending a game later in the season when it would be cold. He wanted to wear his mission coat from Illinois. He got his wish. It was a cold game. I hear it was in the 40s and snow threatened all day.

He even got to go to BYU's Homecoming Spectacular, a production by different performing groups, where they payed tribute to Rex E. Lee, former president of BYU and grandpa’s first cousin. Rex Lee was a very accomplished person. He started the BYU law school, argued 59 cases before the supreme court, the list goes on and on.

Just before this trip to Utah, Grandpa told me that "it gets a little better every day", referring to his grief about Grandma. THANK YOU to my family members that pulled this off. His smile is like sunshine to my soul!

awww, this is the sweetest post I've read all day, and I've read a good 20 by now (I know, but it's sunday, the kids are asleep and Jase is yapping with his mom). Very sweet, your grandpa looks so happy too. And I'm totally jealous of the upcoming zip line.
