(From my journal March 24, 2001 while living in Salt Lake City)
"Im such a happy girl. I love my family. The older I get, the more intense my feelings for them become. I drove down to Provo yesterday for Uncle Add's funeral (he is my Grandpa Udall's oldest brother). Aunts Nona and Alayne came up with Grandpa and Grandma and Uncle Collin. I was standing in the viewing room awaiting the family prayer when I spotted Grandpa for the first time. As we walked toward each other, I saw on his face the same feelings for pride, love and gratitude that I was feeling. We hugged for several moments and then he said into my ear, "We dont even have to speak, do we." And I truly couldn't speak, I was so overcome with emotion. I love my Grandfather with such intensity it cant even be described. After the prayer as they closed the casket, I wept thinking of the day my Grampy is called home. I pray that day is far in the future after Grampy has sealed me to my husband and held my children in his arms. Not only has he touched my life for good but he has been my constant- when nothing else was. He is my biggest fan while also being my greatest example. I'm truly honored to be his descendant."

that is a great journal entry. thanks for sharing.
Words rarely can convey what we feel at times like these, but I think you did it perfectly here.

Love it! Thank you.
I love that you posted this....very sweet Jill.
I served in the Peoria Mission and I can't think of a more wonderful person than Kenyon Udall. This story reminds me of what a truly remarkable individual he was. He had a capacity to love others that seemed boundless. He had a sense of humor that made you want to be around him all the time. He just exuded goodness in every way.
I need to be better at journal keeping. How great that you have that recorded! I'm so glad that you did get to be sealed and have him hold your children.
you truly come from a remarkable family Jill. I'm sorry you lost your Grandpa, but I'm happy you have such a strong gospel family. Such blessings to be united through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Your family is so cute. I hope all is well.
