Maternity Insurance

So my IDIOT insurance has declined me for maternity coverage because I was in a car accident over 2.5 years ago and I saw a chiropractor for a few months. What the freak does that have to do with me having a baby next year?! I'm so irrated because it's all about how the chiropractor documented his work. He said I had a sprain in my back, which I didn't. I was there because of pain in my knee but he had to justify our visits so he threw in the back sprain, I think. Doesn't anyone care that I've actually had a baby, without incident, since then?!
So... who knows where I should try to get maternity insurance? It's BCBS that has declined me. Idiots.

United. They have the best Maternity coverage out there. I will look into it for you. I actually handle all the insurance benefits at the firm I work for... Those crazy insurance people.

That is the worst story ever. We have BCBS and I was in a car accident while pregnant with Gracie. I guess they just didn't ask me about that. I don't know any insurance co's out here, maybe the equivilent to Medicaid in Utah? They covered gracie's birth, no problem.

We have American Community, they don't look at "pre-existing conditions". We have been pretty happy with them. I can give you info if you need it.

you can get aflac in addition to insurance. They send you money for appt's to cover your co-pays and such.

Insurance is the worst! I am sorry that you are having to deal with all that right now. You are so smart to start planning now so you aren't caught in a bad spot when you do get preggo.
Wish I had info for you, our insurance doesn't cover maternity...Good luck.

Hey Jill...It's JB! :) HI!!Well I would recommend United Health Insurance. Our maternity coverage was great and we also have "family planning" with it too. Just coming out of a pregnancy...the whole pregnancy cost us $260. My first visit while prego I had a co-pay of $10...and the entire hospital bill was $250. So everything was paid for pretty much. We ended up paying more in bills for my "ectopic" pregnancy (there was only one month between my two pregnancys:) seriously we did, and we had cigna then! We were definitely being watched out for with everything! the insurance switch, cache, the timing of everything! so i would check into united! curt pays alot for our united monthly...but it all works out cause when we go to the dr. we never have bills. plus when we take cache to the ped. all we ever have to pay for him is $10 co-pays each time and no bills for him either. Oh and the family planning is great too (they just paid for ours 100% no deductibles or co-pays) Go United! Good Luck! :)

Hi Jill, it's Rachel. Just passing through blogville. I think United has already shown it's fan base on this post, but I also love United. My baby is only 6 weeks old, but I tallied the maternity bill. $35 for 9 months of check ups and $150 for delivery. A whopping total of $185!

okay so I got ripped. I had United with my first child and paid like $3000. I am paying the same with American Community.
