Oh baby...

So what's the story on morning sickness?
I dont remember feeling like this with Cohen.
I think I was tired
and a little nauseous
at the end of the day
but I was still able to work and carry on with life.
For about a week now I've felt nasty pretty much all day.
I just want to be holding still,
which doesn't really work with an 18 month old.
I'm not puking but I never really do.
I feel like I have the flu...
only not.
I've heard I should take a ginger root pill?
Anybody done it?
What are your best remedies?

It's a girl for one... embrace it, love it! Second, I carried alcohol swabs with me and sniffed them. It helped with the nausea, and third, lots of carbs, honey-nut cheerios and grilled cheese sandwiches. It will pass quickly! Have fun!!

Maybe talk to your doc about Zofran? I don't know if they give you this without throwing up though....maybe your having twins? :)(wink, wink)

There's a whole list of things that "work" (yeah right). I felt like gagging (never barfed) for 22 weeks with both pregnancies (both boys). Eating is the only thing I DESPISED and the only thing that made me feel good for three seconds (hence the gaining of 30lbs in the first 3 months).

Just google morning sickness and try them all. But don't get too anxious, they might not work.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: I feel your pain, and it ain't no fun.

Oh and I forgot: ZOFRAN. anti-nausea, doesn't make you tired. best nausea med i've ever used. only drawback is the price. check with you insurance. believe me, it's worth it!

I agree with the aint no fun part! It is so hard to feel like you have the flu 24/7. I was sick with both boys too! I have to say one thing that I think was a miracle with my second. An older women in my ward swore by it. Apple Cider vinegar. It has to be from the health food store and it is a brand name that starts with a B. I can't remember the name. But I mixed it wiht honey and sipped it all day really slow for a couple of days and I felt a million times better. It sounds wierd, but it worked for me. Also, gingerale, drink it warm and slow. And leave something by your bed before so you can eat a few crackers before you even get out of bed and it will help.

What curbed the constant "flu" feeling for me was half of a unisom and vitamin B6. I feel for you!

frankly, i don't think anything works. you just have to wait it out and that stinks. maybe this means you are having a girl!

I've heard that morning sickness is worse with girls...maybe that's what you're having! And I tried sea bands. They worked a little. Kizzy swears by them. I ate lots of protien (almost exclusively) and that worked for me along with peppermints.
Good luck! It's the worst when you've got kids to care for and you feel so crummy...

oh, i think it is so exciting and miserable all at the same time....of course i'm not feeling too bad yet, so it's easy for me to say. I think not letting yourself get to the point of being hungry helps, always have crackers or something bland to snack on so your tummy is never empty...i also found if i didn't rest enough i felt a lot worse. of course that is difficult when their are other children to chase after. good luck though, it is all worth it.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I bet you're having a girl! I was on Zofran with Trey from 10 weeks til about the end of my pregnacy and it's super expensive and I doubt they'll put you on it unless you can't keep anything else down. Your doctor can give you some helpful advice or some honey ginger solution but for me the other alternative was Sprite and Saltines. Eat and drink that all day! Don't let yourself get dehydrated. That's when the sickness really gets bad. Good luck. I hope you feel better soon and it doesn't get worse.

I was dying with boston for 4 months straight! And with my first 2 I had 2 weeks of sickness...like you, just major nauciousness and no throwing up. But with Bossy, I did it all! I took Organic raw ginger, which is AWFUL!, I was sent a pack of the morning sickness lolipops, I took magnesium drinks, I did it all...and NOTHING! So, sorry I coudn't help. Let me know what you figure out so I can get pregnant here in a few months.

Sorry your sick! It's no fun. Some things I found helpful for both pregnancies was to drink either before or after my meal, not during (unless I absolutely had to to swallow). Also, no COLD drinks, that can upset the stomach too. (unless of course you're craving it, then by all means!) No highly acidic things like orange juice or apple juice...high acid, more rumbly in your tummy.

Have crackers, pretzels, something by your bedside before you even sit up, munch on a handful. And of course don't go too long between meals even though you probably despise food, it only gets worse the longer you go between meals/snacks.

Remove any scented items for a while. Any plug-ins, perfumes, hair gel, soap, even body lotion or shower gel.

And, the best of luck to you!
