Cold Head

There's not a lot you can do for a head cold, especially if you're pregnant. Fluids, rest (yeah right), and a little homemade Chicken Noodle Soup are your best bets. Good luck to me.
INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 1/2 cups sliced carrots
4 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
1 (14.5 ounce) can vegetable broth
1/2 pound chopped cooked chicken breast
2 1/2 cups egg noodles
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS
In a large pot over medium heat, melt butter. Cook onion, celery and carrots in butter until just tender, 5 minutes. Pour in chicken and vegetable broths and stir in chicken, noodles, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes before serving.

Hey Jill, thanks for the info from your FHE. I am glad that everyone is talking openly about all this. I always used Vicks in my nose when I was pregnant. Not a cure but it helps.

My mother in law heard this from somewhere and tried it on Derrick's little sister. Before you go to bed put Vick's on your feet and then put socks on. It's supposed to help a lot, especailly with clearing the nasal passages so you can sleep! I worked for a few years in OB/GYN and our Drs told people they can use Robitussin DM, Tylenol cold meds, Sudafed or Actifed, and throat sprays/cough drops. Don't know if you're all ready using these or not. Hope it helps.

Stop it. That's too funny. I'm on the tail end of one (hopefully). It started the Monday before Thanksgiving and it's still hanging on for dear life, but I think I've almost relieved myself of most of it. Good luck getting over yours!!!
