Random bits of on-goings

  • Brad and I went on a date to see the Easter Pageant at the Mesa LDS Temple. He dropped me off to save a spot while he took the kids home to meet the sitter. As I sat there, I got cold. I texted him to bring a blanket. I texted him again later to bring me some socks. He arrived minutes later with both. "How did you get here so fast if you were still home when I texted you to bring socks?" I asked. "I'm just that good", he responds. Turns out, he got the sock request as he was parking. He took off his own socks and gave them to me! If that's not love, I dont know what is! (Incidentally, after waiting for over 90 minutes, we decided to go get yogurt instead of staying to watch the pageant! 20 minutes before it started, we packed up and left, making some late-comers very happy for our spot on the grass!)
  • Jace tinkled on the potty again. This time, it was all his idea. He stood in front of it and said "pee pee" (well, actually "tee tee"). I de-diapered him and set him on the throne and he did his business! We were both so proud!
  • We have had some awesome tithing miracles lately. 1) I had to take Jace to the pediatrician yesterday (because his left ear smells so bad I want to dry heave). Upon arrival, they informed me that we have a credit that would cover the co-pay. 2) I owed over a grand on Cohen's teeth and wrote out 3 checks for the dentist to deposit the same day each month. They only deposited one check and then sent a letter saying that we have a zero balance. 3) Brad found me some "new" running shoes while he was doing the trash route! I know it sounds crazy but they are exactly my size and in really good shape. The girl is probably a die-hard who gets new running shoes every 3 months and throws out the old ones. Since mine are well over a year old, her trash is my treasure! (At least for another 2 months until I can actually buy a pair.)

I love the shoe thing. and I love the potty thing too. I'm trying with Ivan but keep wondering if it's too soon, but you give me hope. He's pooped on the potty twice but they were both just kinda on accident if that's possible. I know when he's going and he sometimes tells me he has to go hide, which means poop, but yet he kinda resists when I try to put him on the potty.... sooooooo I don't know????? good luck though, sounds like it should be soon for you.
