Thanksgiving pictures

There are 8 new babies this year. From left to right: Cohen (rolling his tongue and doing pilates), Leah's twins Audree and Olivia, Lisa's Easton on his tummy, Amanda's Abigail, my brother Steven's Elijah, and Janiel's Curtis. Cara's Charolette is not pictured... but still cute.
In the center (seated) is my darling, white-haired Great Grandma Carpenter, flanked by Grandpa and Grandma Udall. Seated on chairs are my mom and siblings, with spouses seated on the floor and children all over the place. This was the biggest group ever and my first Thanksgiving as a mom. This is significant because past Thanksgivings were full of late night card games, falling asleep on a foam pad on Grandma's floor, early morning runs, and lots of together time with cousins. This year, I had a baby who goes to sleep at 7 pm and also needed a quiet place to nap twice a day. There were also SO many of us that people had to get hotel rooms instead of cramming into one convenient location. It was still a good time but I wasn't prepared for the "changes". Growing up is hard. Change is inevitable. My precious Thanksgiving is forever altered.

I agree. Growing up is for the birds. Why do we have children again? Oh, because they are so stinking adorable and make us happy!

Jill, are you related to Mari-Lena Porter? Her maiden name is Udall. We were good friends a while ago but we lost tough when she got married. You know how that goes. Anyway, I wanted to know how she was doing? And her sister Leti?

I don't know their parent's names. Maybe they are different Udall's but someone way far down the line, related.

I can't believe Thatcher Thanksgiving has come and gone already. I trully feel this year's food quality was far superior, due in part to Jill's crusted sweet potatoes. Ohhhhhhhh yeahhhh. I can still taste them.

I agree about the changes. Growing up is hard. When dena came to help me for the week after I had Easton she was put to work. And I needed alot of help. When she was home she was exhausted and she said to my mom, it's great to just be the kid. I wish sometimes I was just someones kid.

Although I definately miss the carefree times of my no kid life, I sure am enjoying playing S.C. for Christmas.
