Spaghetti again?!

Spaghetti is the old standby dinner around most homes.  It's easy.  It's quick.  It's dirt cheap.  Yesterday I found a breadstick recipe on this blog that left not one but two families very happy it was spaghetti night!

Divine Breadsticks

1 ½ cup warm water
1 tablespoon yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
3 ½ cups flour
½ teaspoon salt
Butter  (I used 4 tblsp and that seemed to be perfect.)
1/2 tsp garlic salt
Parmesan cheese

Mix first 5 ingredients and knead for three minutes. Let stand 10 minutes.  Melt butter and mix in garlic salt . Roll out dough into approximately 9 x 13 rectangle and spread on garlic butter.  Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.  Cut into 12 strips.  Twist dough and put on baking sheet. Cover and let rise 30 minutes. Heat oven to 375 degrees.  Bake 15-20 minutes until they just start to golden.

These sound yum! My family is crazy and I'm the only one that likes spagetti around here! Maybe they will be happier if I make these to go with it!

Mmmm. Breadsticks always sound good. Thanks for the recipe. Do you think a greeny cook like myself can do them? ; )

I have one for you. Often my kids would ask for parmesean bites and then spaghetti as an after-thought. They are canned biscuits cut in 4ths. Put 1/2-1 cube of butter in a large sided cookies sheet and place in 400 degree oven till melted. Roll the "bites" in the butter and sprinkle with parmesean and bake till golden. Easy and yummy. Enjoy!
